Organization
Covenant Presbyterian Children's Center is a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church while we do not teach theology or doctrine to young children, we do consider ourselves Christian educators. Social skills, love and empathy for others are taught and modeled on the example of Christ. We pray before meals and snacks, and the Elephant and Zebra classes attend chapel. We use the “First Look” Orange Christian curriculum, Bible songs, in the day’s activities, and a particular emphasis is placed on the Christian holy seasons of Christmas and Easter. For these holidays, the Christian meaning of Christ’s birth and resurrection are expressed and taught. In teaching social skills, love and empathy for others are taught and modeled on the example of Christ. At the preschool age, religious values are often “caught” as easily as they are "taught”.
The Children’s Center Board has oversight of the Children’s Center and reports to the Session of the Church. Covenant Presbyterian Children's Center is administered by a full-time director and is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Covenant Presbyterian Children's Center offers care for children from six weeks to five years of age with hours from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
